LA Kings Projected Lineup vs. Detroit Red Wings; Last Game Before Hibernation

February 2, 2022 By MayorsManor Staff

When the Kings headed to New York to kick off a six-game road trip, there were many questions surrounding the group. Now, sitting on a 3-0-2 record with one game to go, the rest is just gravy.

8 pts ☑️

Things are starting to come into focus on the roster side of things, as well.

UPDATE: Hearing Mikey Anderson shouldn't be out too long. Expectation is he'll likely be available to return after ASG break, when Kings resume play on 2/15. https://t.co/GhMAMsZx6M

LA Kings roster move…

Rasmus Kupari headed to AHL Ontario. He'll get some playing time during the upcoming NHL schedule break.

What about the standings, though?

For now, that’s still a volatile situation. LA sits a few ticks ahead of Edmonton and Anaheim — plus within striking distance of second-place Calgary — when you look at the effective standings (i.e. normalized for games played, rather than looking at simply points earned).

Coming off a big win in Pittsburgh, coach Todd McLellan isn’t expected to make any changes to his lineup. However, do note that Christian Wolanin was activated off the Kings taxi squad for tonight’s game, so anything is possible.

Beginning tomorrow, the Kings will have an extended break, with their next game scheduled for February 15 vs. the Edmonton Oilers.
