Saturday night was a good night for the Reign. They jumped out to an early 2-0 lead and eventually skated off with a 7-3 victory. Martin Frk continued to light up the AHL, recording his first hat trick at that level. And as if that wasn’t enough, Johan Sodergran returned to action for the first time since October and opened up the scoring a little more than three minutes into the game.

Ontario also wore specialty jerseys honoring first responders that were a huge hit with fans, as evidenced by social media comments and Frk’s sweater eventually selling for $2000 in the post-game auction.
Somewhat buried on the scoresheet due to the offensive explosion put forth by the Reign, center Jaret Anderson-Dolan picked up a goal and an assist. Meanwhile, fellow LA Kings prospect Jordan Spence — a first-year pro — added another three helpers to his totals. He leads all Ontario defensemen with 20 points in 27 games played.
Next up, the Reign and Roadrunners will do it all over again Sunday afternoon at 3pm. From what we’re hearing, they’ll go with the same lineup for the rematch.
Oh, you like goalies?
