This was the best interview I ever heard Rob Blake since being Kings GM. Honestly, if he did more candid interviews like this, I think Kings fans would have more faith in the direction and future of the Kings. I think he needs to do more frequent interviews and and be more transparent like he did with you guys. Blake is a a bright guy and it serves him well. At the end of this interview like that, most Kings fans will think twice before writing a negative post online Kings brass. Why? Because In that short interview I had many of concerns addressed. Blake should know by now, an interview like that is an opportunity for him to prove at any time that he is a very intelligent GM and really does have a solid plan for now and the future ! I
Regained a lot of faith in Blake after that interview.
I agree that Blake would have served himself well to take more opportunities to explain what he was doing. One of the smartest things Dean Lombardi did when he came to town was, he took every chance he could to explain his plan and the ideas behind it. Even, then I recall that some fans either didn’t get it or thought they knew better than him. So as for people posting negative stuff about the Kings brain trust, there are always going to be idiot know-it-alls who think they have bigger brains than professional hockey people, and you’ll find them in every fan base. Hence: The Mayor rolling his eyes at “Hockey Twitter.” Social media and online forums just allows them to come out of the woodwork.
