Sometimes, the pregame stories write themselves — and this appears to be one of those days.
In January 2019, defenseman Jake Muzzin was traded to Toronto in exchange for two prospects (Carl Grundstrom, Sean Durzi) and a first round draft pick (which became Toby Bjornfot). When the Leafs and Kings faceoff on Wednesday, the final piece to that deal is set to make his NHL debut.
As expected…
Sean Durzi will be recalled by the LA Kings today.
Picked up another three assists last night. Leads AHL defensemen in goals, second overall in points.

If Sean Durzi plays tonight, as expected, he will become only the third player in LA Kings history to wear No. 50…

He'll start.

FWIW – Dustin Brown and Andreas Athanasiou were absent from morning skate:
Regarding LAK lineup changes for tonight – nothing definitive as team is pending results of COVID-19 testing. Could be one positive test, update from team soon.

Carl Grundstrom and Rasmus Kupari stayed on the ice for extra work. That’s usually the best indication of who will be scratched. However, with Athanasiou moving into protocol, one of them will play.

Update on Drew Doughty…
From what I'm hearing, he's questionable for Saturday as of right now. However, should be back no later than Tuesday vs. Anaheim.

On the Leafs side of things:
Well here's some news…
Kyle Clifford is in LA with the Maple Leafs.
Look for an announcement soon that he's being recalled from AHL Marlies.

Unfortunately, sounds alike Clifford won’t play tonight…
Maple Leafs going with same lineup that beat the Islanders, with one exception: Jack Campbell starts in L.A.
