With four straight wins on their recent homestand, the Kings have pulled their record up to an NHL .500, with a 5-5-1 showing after 11 games.
Carl Grundstrom, originally drafted by the Maple Leafs and later acquired by the Kings in a deal that sent Jake Muzzin to Toronto, will return to town for only the second time in black and white. He faced the Leafs in Toronto back in November 2019, yet came away pointless after playing over 14 minutes. Thus far this season, Grundstrom has two goals in eight games played.
Following Monday night’s action, the Kings will immediately head to Montreal for a Tuesday night game with the Canadiens. Given the back-to-back games, expect Cal Petersen and Jonathan Quick to once again split the starting goaltender responsibilities. For the Maple Leafs, old friend Jack Campbell will get the start in goal.
