The more things change, the more they stay the same… or do they?
When last the Kings and Senators met, the hockey world was about to shut down due to the beginnings of a world-wide pandemic. That game was March 11, 2020 in Los Angeles and it ended up being the last game played that season. While the home team won 3-2 that night, the LA goals came from Gabe Vilardi, Martin Frk, and Trevor Lewis — none of whom are even available to play for coach Todd McLellan this time around. Cal Petersen was also the goalie for that one, and he’s expected to give way to Jonathan Quick tonight.
Another fun note about LA’s 3-2 victory in March 2020 is that it was the Kings seventh straight win. Tonight, McLellan and the Kings will be looking for their — you guessed it — seventh straight win.
A power play goal or two could help quite a bit.
STAT CHECK
Kings have just one goal in 21 power plays on the road, including tonight.

On the Senators side of things:
Their lineup is very much in flux tonight due to an abundance of Ottawa players being in protocol.
Seems like tonight's game is still a go… https://t.co/puWGowYVqd
