This is the third and final photo gallery article from the 2021 Rookie Faceoff Tournament.
We’ll have a more detailed ‘post event’ article up later this afternoon with some key observations (and opinions).
For now, let’s wrap up our notebook from Monday’s Kings v Golden Knights game.
LA went with the following lineup:
Madden – Kupari – Fagemo
Chromiak – Byfield – Kaliyev
Pavlychev – Pinelli – Dudas
Morrison – Hyland – Kemp
Phillips – Durzi
McNelly – Spence
Robinson – Kosior
Parik
After sitting out Sunday, Kupari and Fagemo drew back in, while Turcotte was rested. And he wasn’t the only one.
On that double minor for high sticking last night…
Heard Grans lost a few teeth. That's why he's out today. Bummer. Had looked pretty solid in the first two games.

Below are some of the tweets shared during LA’s 3-2 loss to Vegas…

Kupari is the captain today, Fagemo and Madden have the As… pic.twitter.com/A7pkkOFqbn

These two teams did NOT like each other last season in the AHL. And today's game has that physical element, where players are battling for every square inch of ice. Totally different than last night.

Jordan Spence is really good at hockey.
That's the tweet.

That was at least Fagemo's second penalty today (cross checking), possibly third.

The last two shifts, Fagemo has played like a man possessed.
Looking for atonement.

And in the blink of an eye, it's 2-0 VGK

VGK coach yelling at the ref… Loudly.
Then Wrobo yelling at the ref. I think he said, 'What do you think of the new GnR song?'
Couldn't hear clearly though. My ears are frozen.

From what I'm hearing, sounds like Brandt Clarke isn't going to be ready for the start of LA Kings camp.
Again, not injury or COVID related. So he's expected to be fine. Just needs some time.
Update to follow in a few days.

Chromiak goal after Spence attempt. LA trails 3-2 with 9 minutes remaining in regulation.
Can they pull out a win?
— John Hoven | The Mayor (@mayorNHL) September 20, 2021
At a whistle with 2:10 remaining in regulation, here are my LA Kings three stars for today…
⭐⭐⭐ Dudas
⭐⭐ Fagemo
⭐ SpenceKupari was also good at times. Parik was solid in the first period.
— John Hoven | The Mayor (@mayorNHL) September 20, 2021
Final couple minutes were TENSE. Wrobo called timeout and then it was 6-5 without a goalie. LA falls 3-2, couldn't pull off the weekend sweep.

STATS CHECK
Sammy Fagemo led all LA Kings players today with 9 SOG.
Not a typo.
Phillips and Pavlychev had 5 each, followed by Kaliyev and Durzi at 4 each.
Parik made 25 saves vs VGK.
