From their humble beginning as one of the NHL’s Second Six expansion teams in 1967, through winning two Stanley Cups in three years and becoming a league powerhouse in 2012-14, the LA Kings have experienced a rich hockey history over the past 50-plus years. Below are some key franchise moments that occurred on this date.

On June 24, 2000, the @LAKings selected Alexander Frolov 20th overall at the NHL Entry Draft. Frolov, who was ranked seventh among European skaters by Central Scouting, played in seven seasons with the #LAKings, and scored 168 goals and 381 points in 536 games.#GoKingsGo pic.twitter.com/FGY8ynqksD

On June 24, 2006, the @LAKings selected Jonathan Bernier 11th overall at the NHL Draft. Bernier, who was the top ranked North American goaltender by Central Scouting, posted a 29-20-6 record, with a 2.36 GAA and .912 SV% in five seasons with the #LAKings.#GoKingsGo pic.twitter.com/Hp1imiTzn6

On June 24, 2006, the @LAKings acquired Patrick O'Sullivan and the 17th overall pick (Trevor Lewis) from Minnesota for Pavol Demitra. O'Sullivan scored 109 points in 188 games, and Lewis scored 163 points in 674 games, and won two Stanley Cup rings with the #LAKings.#GoKingsGo pic.twitter.com/m6rAknIIXM

On June 24, 2017, the @LAKings selected Jaret Anderson-Dolan 41st overall in the second round of the NHL Draft. In 2020-21, Anderson-Dolan scored seven goals and 11 points in 34 games with the #LAKings.#GoKingsGo pic.twitter.com/ACVt1pUAHd

On June 24, 2020, Jarome Iginla was elected into the Hockey Hall of Fame. Iginla, who joined the @LAKings at the 2017 trade deadline, scored six goals and nine points in 19 games with the #LAKings, and retired with 625 goals and 1,300 points in 20 NHL seasons.#GoKingsGo pic.twitter.com/svPwK8iSxf
