For one of the final times this season, it’s time to take a lap around the globe and check in on the LA Kings prospects playing in various leagues. The following reports are for games played through end of day Sunday, May 9th, 2021
AHL Ontario Reign
Historically we do not include AHL players on this list, but due to the high volume of prospects playing for the Ontario Reign this season, we will highlight select players each week.
Ontario began the week with 6-4 and 7-4 victories over the San Diego Gulls — pushing their winning streak to five games — before falling to the Colorado Eagles 7-5 on Sunday. Each of the last three games featured hat tricks by Reign players, which may be a first in franchise history.
Martin Chromiak, Left Wing (128th overall in 2020)
2021 stats:
AHL-Ontario Reign: 0 goals, 0 assists, minus-1, 0 PIM in 2 games played
Slovak Extraliga-HK Dukla Trencin: 7 goals, 12 assists, plus-6, 0 PIM in 32 games played
On Friday, Chromiak made his North American pro debut, playing on the fourth line against the Gulls. Despite going pointless, he had a breakaway attempt in his first game and a scoring chance in his second game, where he was bumped up to the third line. By all accounts, he looked good for a guy traveling from overseas, clearing quarantine and then being thrown in against San Diego for his first game.
Aiden Dudas, Left Wing/ Center (113th overall in 2018)
2021 stats: 6 goals, 4 assists, minus-19, 8 PIM in 35 games played
In the second game, Dudas ended the momentum of a San Diego comeback. While killing a penalty, Dudas took a pass off the boards and rushed in before sniping one over the netminder’s left shoulder.

Samuel Fagemo, Left/Right Wing (50th overall in 2019)
2021 stats: 8 goals, 8 assists, minus-3, 4 PIM in 30 games played
The Swedish sniper was the first to light the lamp in the second of back-to-back contests against the Gulls. He was the gunman in a little contested two-man breakaway. He also had an assist in the first game.

Arthur Kaliyev, Right Wing (33rd overall in 2020)
2021 stats: 13 goals, 15 assists, plus-3, 20 PIM in 38 games played
Kaliyev added two goals and two assists to his totals, putting a four-point gap between him and Akil Thomas for the team scoring lead.

Rasmus Kupari, Center (20th overall in 2018)
2021 stats: 7 goals, 15 assists, plus-2, 16 PIM in 31 games played
Kupari potted the first Reign goal of the week, pouncing on a rebound for a 1-0 lead against the Gulls. He would receive the Kings final call up to the NHL roster.

Akil Thomas, Center/Right Wing (51st overall in 2018)
2021 stats: 10 goals, 14 assists, minus-8, 12 PIM in 38 games played
Thomas put up four points this week, two goals and two assists. His first goal would come in the initial game of the week, a rocket over the right shoulder of the Gulls goalie. His second marker came against the Eagles, a tip-in from the high slot.

Alex Turcotte, Center/Left Wing (5th overall in 2019)
2021 stats: 6 goals, 15 assists, minus-2, 20 PIM in 31 games played
Turcotte accumulated the most points of any Reign player this week. In the first two games, he had three primary assists. Yet, he saved his best performance for last, scoring his first professional hat-trick against the Eagles on Sunday.

Kaliyev padded his goal & points lead today, Thomas added a goal. And with his hat trick, Turcotte continued his climb up the ranks.

Kale Clague, LH Defenseman (51st overall in 2016)
2021 stats: 1 goal, 7 assists, minus-11, 8 PIM in 21 games played
He was back in the AHL this week after his most recent stint on the NHL roster, earning two assists.
Sean Durzi, RH Defenseman (52nd overall in 2018)
2021 stats: 3 goals, 15 assists, minus-1, 32 PIM in 37 games played
Durzi had a big game to close out the week, notching three primary assists in the Reign’s 7-5 loss to the Eagles.
Jacob Moverare, LH Defenseman (112th overall in 2016)
2021 stats: 1 goal, 12 assists, plus-1, 0 PIM in 24 games played
Moverare had three assists this week, all against the Gulls. Despite going pointless against the Eagles, he still contributed to the Reign’s offensive output with his defensive play. Prior to Kaliyev’s goal, he batted an attempted hail-marry pass out of the air and started the sequence that would lead to the goal.
Markus Phillips, LH Defenseman (118th overall in 2017)
2021 stats: 2 goals, 7 assists, plus-1, 12 PIM in 29 games played
Phillips had a quiet, three-point week.
Matt Villalta, Goalie (72 overall in 2017)
2021 stats: 3.53 GAA, .883 SV% in 18 games played
Villalta started the second game against San Diego, making 31 saves on 35 shots to secure the win. His 29 save effort against the Eagles would not be enough for a win.

Europe
Aatu Jamsen, U20 SM-sarja-Pelicans U20, Right Wing (190th overall in 2020)
2021 stats: 18 goals, 38 assists, plus-23, 40 PIM in 36 games played
Jämsen’s future is up in the air at the moment. Despite being called up for the playoffs, he has not signed a professional contract with the Pelicans. He is eligible to play in the U20 SM-sarja but is also free to sign elsewhere.
Kasper Simontaival, Finland, Center (66th overall in 2020)
2021 stats:
LIIGA-Tappara: 3 goals, 4 assists, plus-3, 8 PIM in 30 games played | Playoffs: 0 goals, 0 assists, minus-1, 2 PIM in 2 games played
Mestis-TUTO Hockey: 3 goals, 4 assists, plus-1, 4 PIM in 30 games played
Tappara was eliminated from the playoffs and lost the third-place tie-breaker game against IFK Helsinki. Simontaival will start next season with his new team, KalPa, a much younger team where he will have a bigger opportunity to get playing time.

Helge Grans, SHL-Malmö Redhawks, RH Defenseman (35th overall in 2020)
2021 stats: 3 goals, 9 assists, minus-21, 0 PIM in 43 games played
Grans’ only action since Malmö was eliminated from the playoffs has been in exhibition games for Sweden.
Kim Nousiainen, LIIGA-KalPa, LH Defenseman (119th overall in 2019)
2021 stats: 9 goals, 18 assists, plus-15, 14 PIM in 54 games played | Playoffs: 0 goals, 0 assists, minus-4, 0 PIM in 4 games played
Nousiainen remains at Finland’s World Cup camp, where he is the youngest player on the roster.
Juho Markkanen, Finland, Goalie (112th overall in 2020)
2021 stats:
LIIGA-SaiPa: 4.54 GAA, .815 SV% in 2 game played
U20 SM-Sarja-SaiPa U20: .916 SV% in 10 games played | Playoffs: 3.20 GAA, .888 SV% in 5 games played
Mestis-Ketterä: 3.14 GAA, .876 SV% in 8 games played
U20 Mestis-Ketterä U20: 5.00 GAA, .815 SV% in 1 game played
SaiPa did not qualify for the playoffs.
Alexander Dergachyov, KHL-Vityaz Podolsk, Center (74th overall in 2015)
2021 stats: 11 goals, 12 assists, minus-22, 22 PIM in 53 games played
Vityaz Podolsk offered Dergachyov a contract but it has not been signed.
NCAA College Hockey
David Hrenak, St. Cloud State, Goalie (144th overall in 2018)
2021 stats: 2.66 GAA, .904 SV%
Hrenak and four other St. Cloud seniors have made the choice to play a fifth NCAA season in pursuit of an NCAA title, something the current roster has always contended for but has never won. This gives the Kings an additional year before Hrenak becomes an Unrestricted Free Agent. This is his last year of NCAA eligibility.

Brock Faber, Univ. of Minnesota, RH Defenseman (45th overall in 2020)
2021 stats: 1 goal, 11 assists, plus-17, 14 PIM in 27 games played
Faber will don the maroon and gold for a second consecutive season in 2021-22. He’s also expected to suit up for Team USA again at the next World Junior Championship.

Andre Lee, UMass-Lowell, LW/C (188th overall in 2019)
2021 stats: 7 goals, 9 assists, plus-7, 18 PIM in 20 games played
Lee will be a key component in the River Hawk’s offensive success next season
Ben Meehan, UMass-Lowell, LH Defenseman (140th overall in 2020)
2021 stats: 0 goals, 8 assists, minus-2, 27 PIM in 17 games played
Meehan will return to UMass-Lowell for his sophomore season.
USHL
Alex Laferriere, Des Moines Buccaneers, Right Wing (83rd overall in 2020)
2021 stats: 26 goals, 24 assists, plus-7, 59 PIM in 49 games played
The Harvard Commit led Des Moines in nearly every scoring category.
Braden Doyle, Dubuque Fighting Saints, LH Defenseman (175th overall in 2019)
2021 stats: 5 goals, 19 assists, minus-5, 18 PIM in 51 games played | Playoffs: 1 goal, 0 assists, minus-1, 0 PIM in 2 games played
Dubuque’s highest-scoring defenseman is committed to Boston University.
Lukas Parik, Dubuque Fighting Saints, Goalie (87th overall in 2019)
2021 stats: 2 assists, 3.35 GAA, 0.867 SV % in 28 games played | Playoffs: 4.00 GAA, .893 SV % in 2 games played

2021 stats:
Foreurs: 5 goals, 19 assists, plus-14, 0 PIM in 19 games played | Playoffs: 0 goals, 7 assists, plus-7, 4 PIM in 5 games played
Moncton Wildcats: 5 goals, 11 assists, minus-4, 14 PIM in 13 games played
The Foreurs have a 2-0 series lead on Rimouski Océanic. Spence had an assists in each game. He is tied with two others for second most playoff assists.
