It’s time to take a lap around the globe and check in on the LA Kings prospects playing in various leagues. The following reports are for games played through end of day Sunday, April 25th.
AHL Ontario Reign
Historically we do not include AHL players on this list, yet due to the high volume of prospects playing with Ontario this season, we will highlight select players each week.
The Reign had a back-to-back this weekend, a 2-0 shutout victory over the Bakersfield Condors and a 4-2 loss to the San Jose Barracuda.
Quinton Byfield, Center (2nd overall in 2020)
2021 stats: 8 goals, 12 assists, minus-10, 22 PIM in 30 games played
Byfield kicked off scoring for the Reign this week when he found a loose puck in front of the Bakersfield goal and went five-hole to find twine. He also gained the admiration of Coach John Wroblewski with his play against the Barracuda.

Byfield's confidence has been soaring. That was one of his best games carrying the puck. You're seeing why he was drafted for his full game. Learning curve has gone from a struggling plus-minus player to a dominant player. Loved his game today, liked it for a while too. — Wrobo
