Trevor Moore contributed to the Kings offense against the visiting St. Louis Blues on Wednesday, recording his third goal of the season, and later adding an assist, as part of LA’s 4-1 victory.
After the game, the 25-year-old forward shared the following comments:
On what led to the Kings great start in the game
It’s been a point of emphasis for us lately. A couple good first shifts led to a drawn penalty. Those guys on the power play have been great all year, and they cashed in again.
On how he scored his goal tonight
It was a lot of good forechecking work by all three of us, then activating the d-man. When you get a team out there, a group a little more tired, advantage goes to the offense. We were able to break them down, [Sean Walker] made a great pass.
On the forechecking ability of his line and how he has meshed with Jaret Anderson-Dolan and Carl Grundstrom
It’s something we talked about. Three younger guys, we’re not gonna get too cute out there. We’re gonna make sure we get the puck in, ‘get on the hunt’ is what we like to say, and then just go get the puck back. We all skate well and we like to win battles. We just gotta keep pushing for that in the future.
On if the team had something to prove after the series in Colorado
It wasn’t really something that we had talked about. Everyone knew in their gut that we had more. We knew that we had not played our best game against Colorado, and we wanted to come back here and have good showing.
On his line playing the most even strength minutes tonight
I didn’t know that we had the most minutes. No one said anything. That’s obviously a good sign, but also we had a couple long shifts out there. We got caught out on an icing. I don’t know how much of that goes into it. Our line was feeling it tonight, we’ll take the good out of that.
