And we now return to our regularly scheduled program.
With a series of unexpected roster swerves thrown at coach Todd McLellan over the weekend, followed by an extended stay in Denver, the Kings are scheduled to resume on-ice activities today at 10:30am in El Segundo. Following a brief morning skate, they’ll then take on the visiting St. Louis Blues later tonight in Downtown LA.
We’ll have a lineup projection up in a few hours. Until then, here are a few quick roster notes to help bring you back up to speed:
— Alex Iafallo missed the opening game in Colorado last Friday due to an illness, then returned to the lineup on Sunday. He should be good to go.
— Dustin Brown missed Sunday’s game with an upper body injury and was said to be day-to-day. His current status should become more clear at the morning skate.
— Sunday marked Anze Kopitar’s 1,100 regular season NHL game. He became the third LA Kings player to hit that milestone. Even more rare, Brown wasn’t in the lineup with him.
1,100th regular season NHL game today for @AnzeKopitar
Not very many of them without @DustinBrown23 by his side.
Only 29 of them. https://t.co/goRkAOmJTD

— Olli Maatta went into protocol and missed the series vs. the Avs. On Monday, he was activated from the non-roster list, so he should be available tonight. If he draws in, this most likely means that Kurtis MacDermid will be a healthy scratch (as always, assuming everybody else is healthy).
— Jaret Anderson-Dolan has been on IR and said to be close to a return. He traveled with the team on last weekend’s brief two-game road trip and could be available as early as tonight.
— Jonathan Quick is still officially listed on IR. He is eligible to come off, yet there hasn’t been any information available regarding his availability. Perhaps the morning skate reveals an update. Either way, as of now, we’re expecting Cal Petersen to start vs. the Blues.
— The taxi squad is currently comprised of Lias Anderson, Toby Bjornfot, Daniel Brickley, Drake Rymsha, and Matt Villalta.
— Tonight will mark game No. 98 for McLellan as the Kings head coach.
— Kings are wearing their Reverse Retro jerseys tonight.

After this, only one more to go. https://t.co/GaAjijkRRy
