CONTEST: Looking for LA Kings Superfan

March 3, 2021 By John Hoven

No doubt, being a fan of your favorite sports team has taken on a different spin over the past 12 months. While you can’t be there to cheer on your favorite team in person, that hasn’t stopped LA Kings Superfans from finding new and creative ways to support their team. Mercury Insurance wants to know – Are You an LA Kings Superfan?

If that’s you or even if you know somebody who may qualify, pay attention here. From now through March 15, 2021, fans can enter the LA Kings Superfan Contest. Winners will be chosen each week for prizes, including LA Kings merchandise, a Zoom call with an LA Kings player or $670, the average amount customers save when they switch their auto insurance to Mercury.

Even if you don’t think you want to enter, you may just want to click through and see all the photos already submitted by other LA Kings Superfans. Who knows, maybe you’ll even be inspired to enter the contest!

With the majority of fans cheering on the LA Kings from the comfort of their living room couches this season, Mercury Insurance is looking to bring the in-arena experience home as much as possible, especially for fans who love to show-off their fandom at every game. This past weekend, Mercury Insurance brought its popular concert series to LA Kings fans via an intermission performance by Gene Noble. It was the first of a seven-week run that will now continue for all Saturday home and away games. Kings fans can watch the performances on Mercury’s social channels and the LA Kings Instagram and Facebook pages.

“We are thrilled to partner with both Mercury Insurance and these artists,” said LA Kings President and Hockey Hall of Famer Luc Robitaille. “I encourage everyone to join us for these special musical appearances. It is going to be a lot of fun.”

Not only through music, but through ongoing fan engagement, Mercury – one of California’s leading providers of auto and homeowners insurance – wants to connect with fans of LA’s hockey team.

“The pandemic has put fans in the penalty box, but we’re not going to let that keep us from helping our longtime partners create a great fan experience,” said Erik Thompson, Mercury’s vice president of advertising and public relations. “For more than a decade we’ve been honored to share in the passion of chanting ‘Go Kings Go’ at a sold out STAPLES Center. So, we want to bring that same level of excitement in Southland homes.

Mercury Insurance wants to see LA Kings Superfans show the world how passionate they are about the team. So much so that they’re offering fans the opportunity to win a slew of cool prizes by uploading photos and videos at MercuryInsurance.com/Kings, or tagging social posts on Instagram or Twitter with #MercuryKingsSuperfan for a chance to win. Weekly prizes will be awarded and all entries will be included in the judging for the Grand Prize – a Luxury Box at Home, including:

– A 55” Toshiba 4K Ultra HD FireTV Edition;

– Four silver team-signed jerseys;

– A $500 Blaze Pizza gift card; and

– A McDonald’s SuperFan Game Day Meal, a $500 Arch card, and McDonald’s swag

Fans can also visit www.mercuryinsurance.com/MICS for more information on the intermission shows and to watch the performances in their entirety after the games.
