From their humble beginning as one of the NHL’s Second Six expansion teams in 1967, through winning two Stanley Cups in three years and becoming a league powerhouse in 2012-14, the LA Kings have experienced a rich hockey history over the past 50-plus years. Below are some key franchise moments that occured on this date.

On February 2, 2002, the @LAKings hosted the 52nd NHL All-Star Game at @STAPLESCenter. Ziggy Palffy and Jaroslav Modry represented the #LAKings and the World All-Stars, who defeated the North American All-Stars 8-5.
