#WJC: Surgical U.S. power play goes to work and LW Matt Boldy (MIN 1st/2019) with a no-look feed to Arthur Kaliyev (LAK 2nd/2019) for the slam dunk. No WJC power play works the puck around like these kids, and to think Jack Hughes isnโ€™t part of it.

After the game he was having, you had to wonder when Cole Caufield was going to get one. What a shot, bar down and it's 3-0. #WorldJuniors pic.twitter.com/SqDATJzHqW

Slovakia makes it 3-2 on the power play off a deflection. PP was about to end and the U.S. turned it over. Jake Sanderson (OTT) has been really good in the game, but that was a costly mistake trying to clear on the backhand.

USA coach Leaman on when Slovakia pulled it to 3-2 — Went back to what we talked about during the intermission. We were trying to do too much. We wanted to win, but weren't doing the right things. Shifts were too long, etc. I didn't say anything. Players on the bench talked.

— John Hoven | The Mayor (@mayorNHL) January 3, 2021

Leaman – The D core is our strength. We were trying to do too much tonight, though. This was the first game where I thought we overcomplicated things. Then we adjusted. The one area where I thought we had to be tough coming in was our net front and I thought we were great there.
