Late yesterday, we tweeted that the Ontario Reign are putting finishing touches on plans for their 2021 Training Camp. And this can’t come quickly enough, as the Kings are currently trimming their roster to get down to the final 23 players (plus their taxi squad), in advance of tomorrow afternoon’s NHL deadline.
As first reported by MayorsManor, the Reign will play their home games out of the Kings training facility in El Segundo this season. While not announced yet, they’re expected to play a 38-game regular season.
Quick update – AHL Pacific Division teams are targeting a 38-game regular season, roughly 2/5 – 5/15. Details still being finalized.
Will be an 8 team division (now including VGK), so Ontario Reign would play unbalanced schedule.
Maybe, vs 5 teams x 6 GP and vs 2 teams x 4 GP? https://t.co/azATG3w9Z2

* NOTE: Given the Kings still have a few players in quarantine protocol, several names listed above, including those marked with a ‘*’ could be needed as temporary replacement players for the Kings NHL roster and/or taxi squad. Thus, they could end up being late arrivals to Reign camp. More on that entire situation here.
Caught up w/ Mikey Eyssimont, who played with Poehling bros at SCSU – Jack is highly skilled, Nick scored from everywhere with his shot. Lived near them for a few summers in MN, we become really close. They'll be a good addition to the Reign, both on the ice and in the lockerroom

Eyssimont also shared Nick and Jack Poehling have a collective nickname, as they're often referred to as 'the sisters' …before later adding – "They're fun guys to be around when they're not fighting like twins do!"
