With two of their five scheduled exhibition games now completed, the Ontario Reign look to keep their unbeaten streak alive in today’s rematch with the visiting Tucson Roadrunners.
After the Reign picked up a shootout win in Game 1 on Friday vs. Sam Jose, coach John Wroblewski specifically noted he was impressed with first-year pros Tyler Madden and Akil Thomas. Both continued to shine in Game 2 vs. Tucson on Sunday, with Thomas scoring a goal and Madden adding three points of his own (2G, 1A).
Goaltender Jacob Ingham recently joked about often coming into games around the midway point over the past few months, “I just call myself ‘The Reliever.’ Me and the boys were joking that it seemed like that’s what I was doing a lot.”
Not anymore. He’ll get the start in net today.
Up front, the only change is subtle – where Wroblewski opted to flip his third and fourth line left wings.
The most noticeable changes come on defense, with two guys drawing in, most noticeably the pro debut of Cole Hults.
SIDE NOTE – We had Hults on Kings of the Podcast a few months ago and he was a great interview. Give it a listen here if you haven’t yet heard that episode.

John, can you please find out if that netting will be removed for AHLTV? I’m not going to renew home games if it’s going to be filmed through it. Thank you.
