Despite there being no NHL hockey games played in Southern California over the past 10 months, one hockey-related topic was been consistently talked about since late October – and it had nothing do with anything related to goals, trades, or even prospects. It had everything to do with fashion; as in, the new Reverse Retro jerseys.
However, those aren’t the only jerseys the Kings will be wearing this season. In fact, they have quite a laundry list of sweaters to play in during this year’s 56-game schedule.
Of course, there are the three uniform staples – black (home), white (road), and silver (the Saturday specials). In addition to their new Reverse Retro look, the Kings will also suit up in their ’90s era Heritage Jersey for three games. This is the second, and final year, of the two-year commitment to wear this version of the Heritage Jersey.
As for the Reverse Retro, those were originally only scheduled to be one-year jerseys, a league-wide effort for the 2020-21 season. However, the overall initiative has been wildly successful, so it wouldn’t be that surprising to see the NHL extend the Reverse Retro program for a second year.
As for the 2021 jersey schedule, the Kings are schedule to wear their traditional black jerseys at all non-Saturday home games, and the standard white version for 25 of their 28 away games.
Here’s a look at how things break down for the other games:

We believe there will be at least one additional #ReverseRetroSquared game. However, that hasn’t been confirmed yet, as all teams haven’t officially announced their road jersey schedules. It won’t be against the Ducks or Coyotes, though.
