On October 6, 1986, the @LAKings claimed center Bob Bourne in the NHL waiver draft. Bourne, who was a four-time Stanley Cup Champion with the New York Islanders, scored 40 points in 150 games with the #LAKings and was the recipient of the Masterton Trophy in 1988.#GoKingsGo pic.twitter.com/NK53U3Ndfs

On October 6, 2006, Anze Kopitar became the first Slovenian in NHL history when he made his @LAKings debut against the Anaheim Ducks.
