After more than 30,000 votes — and nearly as many arguments among hockey fans in Los Angeles — we have reached the final round of our King of Kings tournament. In what started out with 32 of the best players in franchise history, your votes have narrowed things down to two men – Luc Robitaille and Dustin Brown.
How did we get here?
Robitaille’s Path to the Final
Round 1: defeated Steve Duchesne with more than 85% of the votes
Round 2: defeated Mattias Norstrom, 90% to 10%
Round 3: defeated Rob Blake, 88% to 12%
Semi-Final: defeated Jonathan Quick, 52% to 48%
Brown’s Path to the Final
Round 1: defeated Jimmy Carson with more than 85% of the votes
Round 2: defeated Dave Taylor, 88% to 12%
Round 3: defeated Marcel Dionne, 77% to 23%
Semi-Final: defeated Anze Kopitar, 61% to 39%
Similar to how things have worked throughout the tournament, voting will take place on all MayorsManor social media accounts: Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Polls are set to open later today.
Study each player. Think it over. It’s almost time to determine who is truly worthy of wearing the crown and claiming the King of Kings title.
