Kings Prospect Tracker: Report For Week Ending April 23, 2018

Time for a quick look at the week in hockey, with a specific focus on LA Kings prospects playing outside the AHL…

 

JARET ANDERSON-DOLAN: Forward, Spokane Chiefs (2nd round pick in 2017, WHL)

Regular season: 40 goals, 51 assists, plus-9, 27 PIM in 70 games played

Playoffs: 2 goals, 7 assists, plus-5, 4 PIM in 7 games played

Anderson-Dolan and the Chiefs were eliminated from the playoffs on April 3.

Upon elimination, Anderson-Dolan was called up to the AHL for the Ontario Reign and made his debut on April 7.

MICHAEL ANDERSON: Defenseman, University of Minnesota-Duluth (4th round pick in 2017)

Regular season: 5 goals, 18 assists, plus-10, 8 PIM in 37 games played

Playoffs: 0 goals, 1 assist, plus-1, 11 PIM in 4 games played

Anderson and UMD became the 2018 NCAA National Champions on April 7.

KALE CLAGUE: Defenseman, Moose Jaw Warriors (2nd round pick in 2016, WHL)

Regular season: 1 goal, 23 assists, plus-11, 8 PIM in 26 games played (Moose Jaw Warriors)
10 goals, 37 assists, plus-31, 35 PIM in 28 games played (Brandon Wheat Kings)
Playoffs: 1 goal, 13 assists, minus-2, 14 PIM in 14 games played

Moose Jaw played Game 7 of the WHL Eastern Conference Semifinals versus the Swift Current Broncos last week, falling 6-0 and being eliminated from the playoffs. In the game, Clague was a non-factor on the scoresheet.

Swift Current wins series 4-3.

GM 3: Moose Jaw 4, Swift Current 3 (OT)

GM 4: Swift Current 3, Moose Jaw 2 (OT2)

GM 5: Swift Current 3, Moose Jaw 0

GM 6: Moose Jaw 3, Swift Current 2 (OT3)

GM 7: Swift Current 6, Moose Jaw 0

JACOB FRIEND: Defenseman, Owen Sound Attack (7th round pick in 2016, OHL)

Regular season: 3 goals, 27 assists, plus-24, 89 PIM in 61 games played

Playoffs: 1 goal, 5 assists, plus-7, 21 PIM in 11 games played

Friend and the Owen Sound Attack played Game 7 of the OHL Western Conference Semifinals last week against the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, losing 9-7 and getting eliminated from the playoffs. In the high-scoring game, Friend contributed one goal and one assist.

Sault Ste. Marie wins series 4-3.

GM 1: Owen Sound 4, Sault Ste. Marie 1

GM 2: Sault Ste. Marie 5, Owen Sound 4 (OT)

GM 3: Owen Sound 6, Sault Ste. Marie 2

GM 4: Sault Ste. Marie 5, Owen Sound 2

GM 5: Sault Ste. Marie 4, Owen Sound 1

GM 6: Owen Sound 7, Sault Ste. Marie 1

GM 7: Sault Ste. Marie 9, Owen Sound 7

COLE KEHLER: Goalie, Portland Winterhawks (Undrafted)

Regular season: 53 games played, 30-16-5 record, 2.77 GAA, .909 SV%

Playoffs: 12 games played, 5-5-2 record, 3.39 GAA, .897 SV%

The Winterhawks and Kehler were eliminated from the playoffs on April 13.

JACOB MOVERARE: Defenseman, Mississauga Steelheads (4th round pick in 2016 (OHL)

Regular season: 3 goals, 18 assists, minus-9, 8 PIM in 32 games played

The Barrie Colts eliminated the Mississauga Steelheads from the OHL playoffs on April 1.

Moverare has not played since January, when he had knee surgery after being injured at World Juniors.

MARKUS PHILLIPS: Defenseman, Owen Sound Attack (4th round pick in 2017, OHL)

Regular season: 10 goals, 29 assists, plus-13, 34 PIM in 68 games played

Playoffs: 0 goals, 3 assists, minus-1, 4 PIM in 10 games played

In the Sound Attack’s Game 7 loss, Phillips was a non-factor on the scoresheet.

Sault Ste. Marie wins series 4-3.

GM 1: Owen Sound 4, Sault Ste. Marie 1

GM 2: Sault Ste. Marie 5, Owen Sound 4 (OT)

GM 3: Owen Sound 6, Sault Ste. Marie 2

GM 4: Sault Ste. Marie 5, Owen Sound 2

GM 5: Sault Ste. Marie 4, Owen Sound 1

GM 6: Owen Sound 7, Sault Ste. Marie 1

GM 7: Sault Ste. Marie 9, Owen Sound 7

CHAZ REDDEKOPP: Defenseman, Victoria Royals (7th round pick in 2015, WHL)

Regular season: 7 goals, 24 assists, plus-2, 42 PIM in 46 games played

Playoffs: 1 goal, 2 assists, minus-8, 10 PIM in 11games played

Reddekopp and the Royals were eliminated from the playoffs on April 11.

DRAKE RYMSHA: Forward, Sarnia Sting (5th round pick in 2017, OHL)

Regular season: 31 goals, 42 assists, plus-11, 70 PIM in 68 games played

Playoffs: 3 goals, 6 assists, minus-1, 10 PIM in 12 games played

Rymsha and the Sarnia Sting were eliminated from the playoffs on April 15.

AUSTIN STRAND: Defenseman, Seattle Thunderbirds (Undrafted)

Regular season: 25 goals, 39 assists, minus-2, 75 PIM in 69 games played

Playoffs: 1 goal, 2 assists, minus-1, 10 PIM in 5 games played

Strand and the Thunderbirds were eliminated from the WHL playoffs on March 31.

GABRIEL VILARDI: Forward, Kingston Frontenacs (1st round pick in 2017, OHL)

Regular season: 22 goals, 36 assists, plus-21, 14 PIM in 32 games played

Playoffs: 11 goals, 9 assists, plus-4, 14 PIM in 14 games played

The Frontenacs began the OHL Eastern Conference Finals versus the Hamilton Bulldogs last week, playing and losing the first three games. In the games, Vilardi was a non-factor on the scoresheet.

Hamilton leads series 3-0.

GM 3: Hamilton 3, Kingston 1

GM 4: HAM @ KGN – Tue, Apr 24

GM 5: KGN @ HAM – Thu, Apr 26 (If necessary)

GM 7: KGN @ HAM – Mon, Apr 30 (If necessary)

MATTHEW VILLALTA: Goalie, Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds (3rd round pick in 2017, OHL)

Regular season: 49 games played, 40-5-4 record, 2.58 GAA, .908 SV%

Playoffs: 13 games played, 10-3-0 record, 3.09 GAA, .894 SV%

Villalta and the Greyhounds continued the OHL Western Conference Semifinals versus Owen Sound last week, taking Game 7 with a 9-7 victory. In the game, Villalta made 29 saves on 36 shots and registered the win.

Sault Ste. Marie wins series 4-3.

GM 1: Owen Sound 4, Sault Ste. Marie 1

GM 2: Sault Ste. Marie 5, Owen Sound 4 (OT)

GM 3: Owen Sound 6, Sault Ste. Marie 2

GM 4: Sault Ste. Marie 5, Owen Sound 2

GM 5: Sault Ste. Marie 4, Owen Sound 1

GM 6: Owen Sound 7, Sault Ste. Marie 1

GM 7: Sault Ste. Marie 9, Owen Sound 7

The Greyhounds began the OHL Western Conference Finals versus the Kitchener Rangers, winning Game 1 and Game 2. Villalta started both games and made a combined 52 saves on 56 shots.

Sault Ste. Marie leads series 2-0.
