Enjoy a free replay of John Hoven on NHL Network Radio, where he joined host Jim ‘Boomer’ Gordon to tee up Game 5 between the Edmonton Oilers and Anaheim Ducks. Who will win the series (and why), which player has been the MVP thus far, and why don’t the Ducks draw more fans at home? They answered all of those questions and more. Check it out.

The segment can be heard using the player below or download any of our audio files for free on the MayorsManor iTunes page located here.

I think the Ducks would have a better shot to win with Bernier over Gibson… He went in that Calgary game when Gibson got shelled… So I don’t agree with the coach sticking with Gibson over Bernier… Remember he makes more on the cap also has as many Post Season Wins this year as the Kings have since Winning the Cup :). To me Gibson had his development hurt when they called him up too early to face the Kings… If they left in AHL he might have won a Championship there which would have helped him more than rushing him in. They do fine in the regular season but their fans know they will choke in the Post Season so they don’t support them or get invested emotionally… Kopitar should have been paid more in line with Getzlaf, Perry, Logan, Pavelski(sp), Keslar who is often in running for Selke. Earlier in this series the announcers were getting on Perry saying he is a 3rd/4th line player as if washed up :). They got Eaves, others who scored more than I Think most expected which helps them make Playoffs. I hate the Ducks, they even cost Kings Division Championship as I expected last game of the season :). Sharks are more like a little brother who can get annoying at times but can at least root for… Like I really wanted them to win the Cup, though I don’t think San Jose as a place deserved it way they acted towards people… Also they have laces on their uniforms, looking like an untied shoe… An expansion team has no business with uniforms like that, I still got my Jeff Friesen jersey #39 :)…

Talbot used to be on Rangers how weird would that be if they played in SCF :)? When is the last time a goalie who got traded by a team faced his former team/starter in SCF :)? If Rangers made Cup in 2012 it would have been Sutter vs. Tortz part two :). I don’t think the Ducks will beat Edmonton with Gibson in net maybe 50/50 was best chances. Bernier I think would have given them 60 or 70% chance, either way I’m picking Nashville to eek out of the West. Otherwise I’m thinking Oilers will beat Penguins without Crosby or edge Rangers in 6 or 7.
