In the blink of an eye, a two decade tradition of Frozen Fury came to an end Saturday night, as the Kings and Avalanche hooked up for the final time in Las Vegas. Their traditional preseason game didn’t feature the offensive explosion fans have come to enjoy in years past. Instead, Jeff Carter’s goal was the lone marker until Mikhail Grigorenko tied things up with only 1:14 remaining in regulation. Overtime didn’t last long either, as Gabriel Landeskog scored 37 seconds into the extra frame, securing an Avalanche win in the event’s swan song.
