In the fifth round of the 2016 NHL Draft (142nd overall), the Los Angeles Kings selected forward Mikey Eyssimont, an over-aged prospect from St. Cloud State University.

Eyssimont had 1 goal, 4 points in his first 16 college games. Then, Had 29 points (13G, GA) in the final 24 games. He also won the MVP of the NCHC conference tournament, the Frozen Faceoff. SCSU won the event.
