Kings Prospect Tracker: Report For Week Ending Apr. 17, 2016

Below are brief updates on all LA Kings non-AHL prospects, meaning guys playing in the three Canadian junior leagues (WHL, OHL, and QMJHL), plus college, ECHL, and overseas:

MIKE AMADIO: Forward, North Bay Battalion (3rd round pick in 2014, OHL)

Regular season: 50 goals, 48 assists, plus-30, 40 PIM in 68 games played
Playoffs: 12 goals, 6 assist, plus-3, 10 PIM in 10 games played
Reign playoffs:

North Bay continued the OHL Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Barrie Colts, falling all three games last week to compete the sweep by Barrie. Amadio contributed three goals and one assist.

Barrie wins series 4-0.

GM 1: Barrie 5, North Bay 2
GM 2: Barrie 3, North Bay 2
GM 3: Barrie 4, North Bay 2
GM 4: Barrie 6, North Bay 0

With the Battalion being eliminated from the playoffs, Amadio was sent to the Ontario Reign.

ERIK CERNAK: Defenseman, Erie Otters (2nd round pick in 2015, OHL)

Regular season: 4 goals, 11 assists, plus-7, 35 PIM in 41 games played
Playoffs: 0 goals, 6 assists, plus-9, 8 PIM in nine games played

The Otters continued the OHL Western Conference Semifinals against the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, losing Game 3 but taking the next two games to win the series 4-1. Cernak registered two assists.

Erie wins series 4-1.

ALEXANDER DERGACHYOV: Forward, St. Petersburg SKA (3rd round pick in 2015, KHL)

Regular season: 2 goals, 0 assists, minus-2, 4 PIM in 33 games played
Playoffs: 0 goals, 1 assists, minus-1, 4 PIM in 15 games played

Dergachyov and SKA were eliminated from the playoffs on March 28.

ALEC DILLON: Goalie, Edmonton Oil Kings (5th round pick in 2014, WHL)

Regular season: 7 games played, 2-2-1 record, 3.81 GAA, .871 SV%

The Oil Kings and Dillon were eliminated from the playoffs on Apr. 5.

STEVEN JOHNSON: Defenseman, University of Minnesota (4th round pick in 2014)

Regular season: 3 goals, 7 assists, minus-1, 6 PIM in 33 games played

Johnson and the Gophers were eliminated from the playoff run on March 19.

MAXIM KITSYN: Forward, Manchester Monarchs (6th round pick in 2010, KHL)

Ontario Reign (Regular Season): 0 goals, 0 assists, even, 0 PIM in two games played
Manchester Monarchs (Regular Season): 26 goals, 29 assists, plus-37, 59 PIM in 65 games played
Manchester Monarchs (Playoffs): 2 goals, 1 assist, plus-1, 0 PIM in three games played

The Monarchs began the ECHL Eastern Conference Quarterfinals against the Adirondack Thunder last week, having a rough start and losing all games to do down 3-0 in the series. Kitsyn registered two goals and an assist.

PAUL LADUE: Defenseman, University of North Dakota (6th round pick in 2012)

5 goals, 13 assists, plus-27, 12 PIM in 39 games played

UND and LaDue won the championship on Apr. 9 for their 8th NCAA title.

ALEX LINTUNIEMI: Defenseman, Manchester Monarchs (2nd round pick in 2014, OHL)

Regular season: 1 goals, 17 assists, minus-2, 8 PIM in 38 games played
Playoffs: 0 goals, 0 assists, minus-1, 0 PIM in three games played

In the Monarchs’ three playoff games last week, Lintuniemi was a non-factor on the score sheet.

In the Otters’ three games last week, Marchment registered a goal.

JACOB MIDDLETON: Defenseman, Ottawa 67’s (7th round pick in 2014, OHL)

Playoffs: 0 goals, 2 assists, minus-3, 2 PIM in five games played

Middleton and the Ottawa 67’s were eliminated from the playoffs on Apr. 1.

It was announced on Apr. 5 that Middleton, along with fellow Kings prospect Damir Sharipzyanov, will join the Ontario Reign on amateur tryout agreements.

MATT MISTELE: Forward, Sarnia Sting (6th round pick in 2014, OHL)

Regular season: 33 goals, 25 assists, minus-6, 45 PIM in 61 games played
Playoffs: 6 goals, 3 assists, plus-1, 4 PIM in seven games played

Sarnia and Mistele were eliminated from the playoffs on Apr. 5.

NIKOLAI PROKHORKIN: Forward, Salavat Yulaev UFA (4th round pick in 2012, KHL)

Regular Season: 19 goals, 17 assists, plus-10, 91 PIM in 55 games played
Playoffs: 2 goal, 5 assists, minus-4, 18 PIM in 10 games played

Prokhorkin and Salavat Yulaev were eliminated from the playoffs on March 31.

CHAZ REDDEKOPP: Defenseman, Victoria Royals (7th round pick in 2015, WHL)

Regular season: 4 goals, 26 assists, plus-19, 102 PIM in 70 games played
Playoffs: 0 goals, 5 assists, minus-1, 4 PIM in 12 games played

The Royals continued the WHL Western Conference Semifinals versus the Kelowna Rockets last week. They lost three games, falling down in the series 3-2, but were able to win Game 6 to force Game 7. Reddekopp registered two assists in the games.

Series tied 3-3.

In the Monarchs’ three games last week, Roach registered an assist.

Roy and Michigan Tech were eliminated from the playoff run on March 18.

MATT SCHMALZ: Forward, Sudbury Wolves (5th round pick in 2015, OHL)

9 goals, 21 assists, minus-56, 47 PIM in 65 games played

The Wolves did not advance to the OHL playoffs.

DAMIR SHARIPZYANOV: Defensman, Owen Sound Attack (undrafted signing)

Regular season: 5 goals, 16 assists, plus-5, 34 PIM in 46 games played
Playoffs: 1 goals, 3 assists, minus-7, 4 PIM in six games played

Sharipzyanov and Owen Sound were eliminiated from the playoffs on Apr. 3.

It was announced on Apr. 5 that Sharipzyanov, along with fellow Kings prospect Jake Middleton, will join the Ontario Reign on amateur tryout agreements.

Sharipzyanov had his debut on the Reign on Apr. 16th. He was a non-factor on the score sheet for the game.

AUSTIN WAGNER: Forward, Regina Pats (4th round pick in 2015, WHL)

Regular season: 28 goals, 34 assists, plus-31, 84 PIM in 70 games
Playoffs: 3 goal, 6 assists, plus-5, 12 PIM in 11 games played

The Pats continued the WHL Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Red Deer Rebels last week. They tied the series at two, lost Game 5 and then won Game 6 to force a Game 7. Wagner registered a shorthanded goal and two assists.

Austin Wagner’s hustle produces a short-handed goal and gives Pats a 6-3 lead at 14:43 of the third period.

SPENCER WATSON: Forward, Kingston Frontenacs (7th round pick in 2014, OHL)

Regular season: 43 goals, 46 assists, plus-31, 32 PIM in 66 games played
Playoffs: 3 goals, 14 assists, plus-7, 2 PIM in nine games played

Kingston continued the OHL Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Niagara IceDogs, losing Game 4 to be swept in the series. Watson was a non-factor on the score sheet.

Niagara wins series 4-0.

GM 2: Niagara 6, Kingston 5
GM 3: Niagara 3, Kingston 2

Upon the Frontenacs elimination, Spencer Watson signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Kings.
