Apparently, the only two teams the Kings need to worry about right now are the Ducks and Stars. Darryl Sutter and crew have already seen the Dallas team twice of late, now they get their second look at Bruce Boudreau’s Anaheim club in the last four days. With that in mind, we’ve asked Mark Whicker of the Los Angeles Daily News to join us for today’s Puck Probability article. Together, we’ll set the table for Saturday’s afternoon game with a few things we think just might happen…
Odds by MayorsManor:
2:1 – Marian Gaborik scores in the first period.
4:1 – As his way of honoring pending Hockey Hall of Fame member Rob Blake, Drew Doughty will hip check somebody into next week during the game.
6:1 – The combined shot total in the first period will be 10, after both teams oversleep.
15:1 – Robyn Regehr, who had no problem waking up extra early, will be credited with six of those 10 shots.
85:1 – The Kings defense plays their best game of the year, limiting the opposition to less than 20 shots.
Odds by Mark Whicker:
5:2 – Kings fans wear swollen-face masks in honor of mumps-stricken Corey Perry and Francois Beauchemin.
7:2 – The game will be decided by one goal, like the last five games the Ducks have played. The last four have gone past regulation, as well.
4:1 – Hampus Lindholm plays 23-plus minutes. He’s done it nine times already and leads the Ducks in TOI, although he doesn’t turn 21 until January. He has not had a plus game in his last five, however.
60:1 – Kings fans chant “Hill-er” when Jeff Carter scores on Freddie Andersen (that happened in last year’s playoffs).
150:1 – NHL bigwig Bill Daly drops in to shoot the breeze with Kings’ general manager Dean Lombardi.
175:1 – Teemu Selanne volunteers to help Bruce Boudreau sharpen up the power play.
