Thanks to the NHL schedule makers, hockey fans in Southern California will be treated to another early start on Sunday in Los Angeles. As usual, we have some odds to share – 10 things that just might happen during the game. Similar to how it’s worked all season, we’ll provide the tidbits related to various things that may occur on the Kings side of the ice, and we have a guest to share thoughts related to the other bench. Joining us for Game 8 vs. the Blue Jackets is Aaron Portzline, who has been the team’s beat writer since their inception for the Columbus Dispatch.
NOTE: Last year, Portzline joined us for a podcast and we had a lot of fun debating several issues. Give it a listen here.

7:1 – Jake Muzzin leads the Kings in minutes played
12:1 – Somebody from the Kings blueline scores the first goal by a L.A. defenseman this season
19:1 – Scott Hartnell gets traded to the Kings during first intermission
50:1 – Jack Johnson ends the game as a plus player
Odds by Aaron Portzline:
1:2 – Kings forward Marian Gaborik will miss a game due to injury. These odds are not specific to Sunday’s game.
Even – A Twitter war of words will spark between two of the NHL’s most … how can we put this nicely? … active club’s in the Twitterverse. Between the #CBJ and #LAKings hashtags, your Tweetdeck is going to rip like a Wall Street ticker.
3:1 – Blue Jackets ruffian Jared Boll will find a dance partner – anybody? hello? – in the first five minutes. Hey, somebody has to awaken a sleepy Sunday matinee.
5:1 – Kings forward Jeff Carter won’t be able to look any of his former Blue Jackets teammates in the eyes. They’ll need to fly a private plane to his summer home in New Jersey next summer if they want to talk.
25:1 – A Jackets player will score their first NHL goal. Tim Erixon (59 games), Michael Chaput (25) and Alexander Wennberg (seven) are still waiting for their keepsake puck.
