Game 2: Key Odds for Kings at Coyotes

October 11, 2014 By John Hoven

Smith Mike CoyotesOn Wednesday, along with all the other Opening Night festivities, we debuted a new series here on MayorsManor, where we passed along a few odds on several interesting tidbits that we thought may or may not take place in the game between the Kings and Sharks. In addition to five odds we supplied regarding the Los Angeles Kings, we also welcomed a guest contributor, Kevin Kurz (the San Jose Sharks Insider for CSN Bay Area), to weigh in from the other side of the ice.

For tonight’s Game 2, we’re joined by former NHL player and current Coyotes TV color analyst Tyson Nash. Let’s see which one of us has a better pulse on tonight’s action in Phoenix…

Odds by MayorsManor:

2-1 Mike Richards is centering Tanner Pearson and Tyler Toffoli before the second period

5-1 Drew Doughty will score a coast-to-coast goal

8-1 Mike Smith and Jonathan Quick will “accidently” bump into each other during warmups

12-1 Jarret Stoll takes a third period penalty

50-1 With Trevor Lewis out of the line-up, Dustin Penner signs a one-game contract right before faceoff… and coach Darryl Sutter only plays him in OT, where he scores the game-winning goal

Odds by Tyson Nash:

3-1 Mike Smith will stand on his head to earn first star of the game

4-1 Shane Doan will get a Gordie Howe hat trick by pounding Dustin Brown into the ice (see here)

6-1 BJ Crombeen and Kyle Clifford will have a spirited, old-fashioned punch each other in the face contest during the first period

7-1 Mikkel Boedker and Jeff Carter will exchange late third period goals to tie the game up late, forcing OT

11-1 Keith Yandle will set up the OT winner with a feed to Sam Gagner, who will finish things off

25-1 I will clothesline someone with my nose between the benches

For more from Nash, be sure to check out this classic interview he did a few years ago on MayorsManor, where he talked about playing in Japan and did some Word Association.
