Following the Kings 2-1 shootout win over the visiting Washington Capitals, here’s what LA captain Dustin Brown had to say…
On how he felt tonight:
“I felt fine. Obviously, getting up to speed after missing a week or two games. Just getting back up to game speed. I adjusted pretty well.”
On looking faster out on the ice:
“I didn’t feel that way. It’s one of those, like I said, I felt better since the break, quite honestly. Just from all around physical, mentally. I feel more like myself. Obviously the injury that I had and just getting back tonight felt good.”
On if he and Dustin Penner chirped at each other:
“No, the only thing I said to him was the best display of his hands was when he was picking up a piece of paper off the ice for the referees.”
On if it is weird to see Penner in a Capitals uniform:
“You kind of get used to guys in different uniforms. I’ve seen him in three different uniforms, so it’s not really that different.”
On Marian Gaborik:
“He fits in fine. He makes a really good play to Kopi and he gets a game winner in the shootout and that’s what we need.”
On the physicality of tonight’s game:
“I’m comfortable in that environment and it was good to get back into the mix of things like that.”
Penner wasn’t about to let that go without a retort. See what he told MayorsManor in response here.

4 different uniforms… but it’s easy to lose count with a journeyman like Penner.
