For more information on the show, here’s part of a recently distributed press release:

Los Angeles, CA – It is quickly becoming the highlight show of record. West Coast Bias, heard Sunday nights on NHL Network Radio (XM 211, Sirius 207), hosted by Jonathan Davis (@westcoasthky) and John Hoven (@mayorNHL), wraps up the day and week in the NHL, while featuring live interviews with players, coaches and media members from around the league.

Their impressive guest list has recently included Bobby Ryan, Dustin Penner, Tyler Seguin, Luc Robitaille, Paul Stastny, Bob McKenzie, Elliotte Friedman and Jarret Stoll just to name a few.

“I’m having the time of my life,” said Davis. “Being able to talk hockey for two hours every Sunday night on this type of platform is something that I have always wanted to do. Co-hosting the show with John Hoven, who I have worked closely with over the past three years, makes it all the more special.”

Each week, Davis and Hoven give listeners an opportunity to get a wide range of perspectives on the game of hockey from people on the ice, in the locker room, the front office and the press box.

“With all the East Coast bias usually talked about among sports fans and athletes, this gives us an opportunity to view the NHL through a West Coast lens,” explained Hoven. “We certainly talk about the entire league, but with teams from the Western Conference dominating the NHL over the past few years, we hope to discuss some of their strengths, while simultaneously debating their weaknesses, each and every week.”

Between the two co-hosts, they have covered the NHL for over 30 years. Jonathan Davis has most recently tracked the Kings, Ducks and Sharks for TSN and The Hockey News. Meanwhile, John Hoven is the creator and Senior Writer at MayorsManor.com, voted Best Sports Blog in LA (2012) and Yahoo’s Hockey Blog of the Year. He also previously served as a member of the Professional Hockey Writers Association (the voting body for all major NHL awards – including the Hart Trophy / MVP, Norris Trophy / Best Defenseman and Calder Trophy / Rookie of the Year).

Over the past few months the West Coast Bias show has broadcast live from a variety of locations, including the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Honda Center in Anaheim and Teemu Selanne’s Steak Tavern in Laguna Beach, CA.

West Coast Bias will also serve as the official post-game show on NHL Network Radio, live from Dodger Stadium, following the historic outdoor game to be played between the LA Kings and Anaheim Ducks in January 2014.
