Jarret Stoll, Garry Galley and Gene Principe were this week’s guests on West Coast Bias.
Live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, we packed in another two hours of hockey talk over the NHL Network Radio airwaves on Sunday night following the Kings-Oilers game. A full list of guests joined us, including Kings center Jarret Stoll, Gene Principe of Sportsnet and Garry Galley from Hockey Night in Canada.
Just over a week ago, Galley made some interesting (crazy?) comments where he identified eight players in the league who were ‘predators’ and needed to be heavily disciplined. Sure, Raffi Torres and Patrick Kaleta were on the list. But, Dustin Brown? We needed to get to the bottom of those thoughts. Once we jumped that hurdle, then it was time to dig in on Preds rookie sensation Seth Jones and Red Wings forward Daniel Alfredsson.
Principe gave us all the info on coach Dallas Eakins and the young Oilers line-up. For example, what’s going on with their goaltending? We tried to find out.
If you need fashion tips, then don’t miss Stoll in the second hour. He responded to some of the things Galley said, then spoke about a few of his other teammates – both past and present.
As always, Jonathan Davis and I debated and discussed a full slate of topics, teams and players – here’s just a partial list: Thomas Vanek, Matt Moulson, Buffalo Sabres, New York Islanders, a coach who rides his bike to work, Shane Doan, Minnesota Wild, Bruce Boudreau’s Anaheim Ducks, Ryan Miller, most hated players in the NHL, Kyle Clifford, fighting in the NHL, suspensions coming up, Best Fight of the Week, other players who might be traded soon, Jay Wells, Wayne Gretzky, Darryl Sutter’s LA Kings, Anze Kopitar, Ryan Smyth, Jason LaBarbera, Devan Dubnyk, Fredrick Anderson, Saku Koivu, Dustin Penner, New York Rangers, Brandon Dubinsky, Mike Richards, Columbus Blue Jackets, St. Louis Blues, Chris Stewart, back-up goalies, Brad Richardson, Vancouver Canucks, Nail Yakupov, Phoenix Coyotes, Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry, Lindy Ruff, Eastbound and Down, Lou Reed and plenty more.
It’s all right here…
HOUR ONE – Moulson/Vanek trade, Gene Principe, Kings/Oilers review, etc.
HOUR TWO – Jarret Stoll, Garry Galley, Gordie Howe Hat Trick of the Week, etc.
An all new episode of West Coast Bias will air on NHL Network Radio next Sunday, starting at 8pm PST. Hope you’ll join us. In the meantime, if you’ve missed any of our recent episodes, check out the links below.

Garry Galley was a soft crappy defensman and probably took a puck too many to his head…
Have to be taken into account when we talk about opinions from soft players that have never amount to anything…
Atta way Mayor.
It’s nice to have a forum to respond to statements like the one he made, he certainly should emphasize his exact point next time he is on Hockey Night In Canada because you cannot simply name Brown in the context that he did. That is, quite frankly, an embarrassment to him because it proves that he either knows nothing about Dustin Brown and the Kings or he says things without actually knowing what he is saying, which leads me to assume that he does that for everything he says. So to further along my point, I no longer see much credibility in what this idiot says. Oh, and he doesn’t respond to questions either.
