Although it hasn’t been officially announced yet, the 2013-14 NHL regular season schedule is set to start around October 1. ALl teams will be playing a slightly condensed schedule to allow players to participate in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Russia.
For now, you can start to plan your calendars by making note of these seven pre-season games:
Sunday, September 15, 7pm – at the Phoenix Coyotes (split-squad game)
Sunday, September 15, 7:30pm – versus the Phoenix Coyotes in LA (split-squad game)
Tuesday, September 17, 7pm – at the Anaheim Ducks
Friday, September 20, 6pm – at the Colorado Avalanche
Tuesday, September 24, 7:30pm – versus the Anaheim Ducks in LA
Friday, September 27, 7:30pm – versus the New York Rangers in Las Vegas
Saturday, September 28, 7pm – versus the Colorado Avalanche in Las Vegas
Frozen Fury weekend is expected to include several additional activities, as discussed in our original story.
Also, while nothing has been announced in this direction, there had been at least indications the Kings would open at home against the Rangers. However, word out of Minnesota suggests LA could open on the road against the Wild on October 3. We’ll all know soon enough.
