Following the Kings 2-1 loss in San Jose on Tuesday night, here’s what coach Darryl Sutter had to share…
On taking solace or momentum from the Kings’ third period effort:
“I think we battled back, but we made it close. You don’t get much for making it close.”
On any encouraging signs from the third period:
“No. If you don’t win, then you’ve got to get ready for the next one.”
On still battling till the end of the game, while being down by a goal:
“I think our role players kept us in the game, and they have for the last three games.”
On Matt Greene returning to the line-up:
“It was good to see him play and not hobble off.”
On if the first period was more about what San Jose was doing or about what the Kings weren’t doing:
“Probably both. I don’t think there was one without the other.”
On Dustin Penner’s goal being waived off:
“Well, I’m sure it’s in the rule book. When the whistle goes… What are they going to come and tell us? They’re going to come and say they lost sight of the puck and they blew the whistle.”
