Flash quotes from Kings locker room after 4-3 comeback win in Game 2

May 16, 2013 By John Hoven

Flash quotes from the Kings locker room (we’ll have A LOT more later tonight)…

– Trevor Lewis on the rebound before he scored: “Yeah, it was a good breakout. Toffoli made a great shot and luckily it bounced right off my stick.”

– Lewis on the two goals in last minutes of play: “We know we didn’t play our best so we got some work to do and clean things up. It’s a big comeback for our team and it’s a huge win for us.”

– Lewis on the penalties in the end of the 3rd : “It was huge. Power play got it done in the end when we needed it most. We got some work to do and clean things up but it’s a big win for us.”

– Lewis on winning 12 straight at home: “I think you feed off the energy of the crowd and we want to make this a tough place to play and teams scared to come in here.”

– Lewis on finding ways to win: “I think Quick has been awesome for us, he’s our MVP. He made some huge saves out there tonight and we scored the goals at the right times.”

– Anze Kopitar on if he feels better after the win: “That definitely helps, it takes the sting away. It’s nice. We haven’t scored a power-play goal in the playoffs at home I think and to do it twice in the two minutes, last minute, it’s huge.”

– Kopitar on coming back after the deficit: “We realized it wasn’t our best effort, but sometimes good teams win when they don’t deserve it too. And again, we pulled it off. We pulled it out of our behinds this time and next time we want to make sure we’re not in a position like this.”

– Kopitar on the Sharks penalties in the third : “But that’s what happens if you put pressure on them. Last five minutes was good. We were in there and we were cycling the puck a lot but again, we got to do that for 55 minutes before that.”

– Kopitar on going to San Jose: “It will be electric. That building gets pretty loud. It was a couple of years ago—I was in the stands when the guys were playing so I know how loud it can get but we got to get up there and try to win a game.”
