Word Association: Morrow and the Stars take on seven Kings

March 7, 2013 By John Hoven

word association - Stars on Kings
We’re going a different direction this time around.

Frequent readers to MayorsManor are well aware of our Word Association features and have enjoyed them as part of our game day previews this season.  Usually though, we’re talking to the Kings’ players about their opponents.  Today, we went inside the Dallas Stars locker room to collect some thoughts about their LA counterparts.

As always, this was all done one-on-one, so nobody heard how the other guys answered – which makes things more interesting when you compare what was said. Overall, the Stars’ players did not disappoint.  Take a look at what they offered up…

– On Dustin Brown:

Trevor Daley – Good hitter
Alex Goligoski – Big
Brenden Morrow – Peckerwood
Eric Nystrom – No teeth
Ray Whitney – Heavy

– On Jeff Carter:

Daley – Scorer
Goligoski – Shooter
Morrow – Heavy shot
Nystrom – Sniper
Whitney – Good

– On Drew Doughty:

Daley – Talented
Goligoski – Skater
Morrow – Youthful
Nystrom – Spin-o-rama
Whitney – Real good

– On Anze Kopitar:

Daley – Great player
Goligoski – Skill
Morrow – Skilled
Nystrom – Dangles
Whitney – Classy

– On Jonathan Quick:

Daley – Quick
Goligoski – Goalie
Morrow – Quick
Nystrom – Goalie
Whitney – Quick

– On Mike Richards:

Daley – Grit
Goligoski – Captain
Morrow – Warrior
Nystrom – Kitchener Rangers
Whitney – Complete

– On Rob Scuderi:

Daley – Steady
Goligoski – Blocker
Morrow – Wall, shot blocker
Nystrom – Long Island, come on!
Whitney – Steady

We’ll have a bunch more up with each of the Stars players listed above, including some very candid comments from Morrow and Whitney. Look for those articles next hour. In the meantime, check out some other comments from around the Stars’ locker room via the links below.
