MayorsManor First Goal Contest: Game 28 – Coyotes at Kings

It’s time for the first of back-to-back games between the Kings and Coyotes at Staples Center.

This is the third match-up in their five-game season series.  The first two were played in Phoenix, with each team picking up a victory.  More importantly, the Kings are 10-2-1 on home ice this season and have taken four of the last five regular-season games with the Coyotes played in LA.

And if you can correctly guess who will score first for the Kings tonight, you could win a giant Fathead for your wall!

Choose any Kings player you want for the contest, for any reason you can come up with.  Feel free to go with Jeff Carter, Dustin Brown (who has five goals in his last five games), Mike Richards, Anze Kopitar, Colin Fraser, Kyle Clifford – anybody.

But know this, take Drew Doughty at your own risk.  That zero in the goal column may or may not change tonight.

So, how do you play?

STEP 1 – Click HERE here to see the prize you could win. Pick it out ahead of time. Do you know which Fathead you would claim as your own? When you do, you’re ready to move on…

STEP 2 – Place a comment below with the LAST NAME of the LA Kings player you think will score first vs. the Coyotes (one entry per person).

We will then pool all entries who correctly predict the First Goal in any of four contests – last Thursday vs. San Jose, last Saturday vs. San Jose, tonight vs. Phoenix and Tuesday vs. Phoenix. From that master group, one person will be randomly selected to receive a free LA Kings Fathead of their choice.

Now, here are the line combinations and defensive pairings that coach Darryl Sutter is expected to use:

FORWARDS

Dustin Brown – Anze Kopitar – Justin Williams

Mike Richards – Jeff Carter – Tyler Toffoli

Dwight King – Jarret Stoll – Trevor Lewis

Kyle Clifford – Colin Fraser – Dustin Penner

DEFENSE

Jake Muzzin – Drew Doughty

Rob Scuderi – Slava Voynov

Alec Martinez – Keaton Ellerby

Healthy Scratches: Davis Drewiske, Jordan Nolan and Brad Richardson.

Based upon who was first off the ice at morning skate today, it looks like Jonathan Quick will get the start in net.

  25. I’m going out on a Limb with Toffoli. He had some great looks Saturday and will be more comfortable with that game behind him.
