MayorsManor First Goal Contest: Game 24 – Flames at Kings, again

Tonight will be Game 2 of the Double Dance with Calgary.  On Saturday night the Kings defeated the Flames 6-2…and yes, Jeff Carter scored another goal.  Which is probably why Justin Williams thinks you should bow down to the guy wearing #77.

Anze Kopitar still leads the team with 22 points, Carter is second (19) and Mike Richards sitting in third – something he described as ‘flying under the radar’ in a MayorsManor interview here.

Those reports of Drew Doughty scoring a goal this season are completely false.  They appear to some type of a rumor started in Toronto.  Don’t believe the tweets.

Now on to the contest rules…

To get started, simply place a comment below with the LAST NAME of the LA Kings player you think will score first vs. the Flames (one entry per person).

One person will receive a free LA Kings Fathead – and that winner will be randomly drawn from anybody who placed a correct entry in one of three First Goal Contests (last Thursday vs. Dallas, last Saturday vs. Calgary and tonight vs. Calgary).

If that is you, you’ll get to chose which LA Kings themed Fathead you want from this list of available items.

Now, here are the line combinations and defensive pairings that coach Darryl Sutter is expected to use:

FORWARDS

Dustin Brown – Anze Kopitar – Justin Williams

Dustin Penner – Mike Richards – Jeff Carter

Dwight King – Jarret Stoll – Trevor Lewis

Kyle Clifford – Colin Fraser – Jordan Nolan

DEFENSE

Jake Muzzin – Drew Doughty

Rob Scuderi – Slava Voynov

Alec Martinez – Keaton Ellerby

Healthy Scratches: Davis Drewiske, Brad Richardson and Tyler Toffoli

Jonathan Quick is expected to start in goal vs the Flames for the second straight game.  At the other end of the rink, the Flames will counter with Joey MacDonald.

For what it’s worth, Sutter said Richards is fine – noting that if he wasn’t, the Kings’ center wouldn’t have played in the third period on Saturday.
