Earlier today we posted our usual pre-game Word Association article, where a handful of Kings players took on four members of the opposing team.
Now, as promised, we have a little something extra for tonight’s game in Vancouver.
Prior to the team plane taking off on Friday, we asked coach Darryl Sutter, along with broadcasters Bob Miller and Nick Nickson, to join in on the fun. Here’s what they had to say during some Canucks Word Association – and per the norm, this was all done one-on-one, so nobody heard what the other guy said….
– On Daniel Sedin:
Bob Miller – Talent
Nick Nickson – Talented
Darryl Sutter – Top-end skill
– On Henrik Sedin:
Miller – Equal talent
Nickson – Just as talented
Sutter – Just as good as his brother
– On Roberto Luongo:
Miller – Surprising
Nickson – Unfortunate
Sutter – Proven number one
– On Cory Schneider:
Miller – Not as good as we thought
Nickson – Unproven
Sutter – Proving to be a number one
And on the Canucks defenseman that comes to mind first…
Miller – “Kevin Bieksa. He’s tough, he can play, he can score and he’s involved.”
Nickson – “Bieksa because he does a lot of things well, plays with an edge. He appears to be tough to play against.”
Sutter – “Alex Edler. He’s a top player.”
