The Saddledome in Calgary certainly has not been a kind building to the Kings over the last decade. In fact, at one point, the Kings had lost ten straight games there. However, a 4-3 shootout win in February 2011 started a streak of three straight wins. Can they make it four tonight?
To help set the stage, here’s some word association with a few of the Kings’ players. We had so much fun with Anze Kopitar, Trevor Lewis and Dustin Penner talking about Edmonton (link), we brought them back again to react to the names of four Calgary players. As usual, these were all done one-on-one, so no player heard what the other guy said – making it interesting when you compare their answers…
On Jarome Iginla:
Kopitar – Shooter
Lewis – Hard
Penner – Sniper
On Jay Bouwmeester:
Kopitar – Big D
Lewis – Fast
Penner – Tall
On Curtis Glencross:
Kopitar – Knockout
Lewis – Hard (yes, he used the same word again)
Penner – Twiggy
On Mikka Kiprusoff:
Kopitar – Big saves
Lewis – Quick
Penner – Finnish
We’ll have plenty more preview content up throughout the day. In the meantime, if you missed yesterday’s article with Penner and Lewis talking about the need for confidence, click here now.
