Tuesday night in Columbus, Mike Richards picked up his first regular season Gordie Howe Hat Trick as a member of the LA Kings – a goal, an assist and a fight. He found the back of the net at 13:44 of the third period, while the assist came on Jeff Carter‘s goal at the 4:25 mark of the second and his fight with Brandon Dubinsky came about seven minutes later. Check out the highlights…
The last Kings’ Gordie-trick of significance was last January, when Kyle Clifford won a steak dinner from Kevin Westgarth – see story here.

First goal in the clip did not appear to be the one Richards assisted on?
Believe it or not, yes that is the play. Richards only assist in the game came on Carter’s goal. You can see him skate in at the very last minute of the celebration too.
Ah, I see it now. Originally mistook the the pass from the blue line as coming from Kopitar rather than Richards.
