MayorsManor First Goal Contest: Game 12 – Jackets at Kings

After 11 games played, Jeff Carter and Anze Kopitar are tied for the Kings points lead at seven each.  However, Carter’s six goals stand alone in the top of that category.

Both players talked about Carter’s strong start to the season and the brewing competitive rivalry in an article we posted here yesterday.

In his career, Kopitar has scored 13 goals in 23 career games vs. the Blue Jackets. And wouldn’t you know it, he scored against them last week in Columbus too.

But, they aren’t the only two players you can pick for tonight’s First Goal Contest.  The Kings roster is littered with guys who have scored plenty of goals themselves – including Simon Gagne, Dustin Penner and Jarret Stoll.

Then there’s the defensemen too, which will include the return of Jake Muzzin tonight, subbing for an injured Alec Martinez.

For anybody new to the scene here, this contest is easy to enter – simply place a comment below with the LAST NAME of the LA Kings player you think will score first vs. the Blue Jackets tonight (one entry per person). We’ll take all of the correct entries and pool them together. From that group, one random winner will get a prize.

    tonight is the night we start to play like the way we did in the playoffs. im calling it. ive seen the team start to turn it around the last couple games. here we go!!!!
