We’re playing a little catch up here today. Knowing how you crazy hockey fans want as much content as you can possibly get a hold of, we didn’t want to let this video slip through the cracks. It was shot last Friday, following the Kings final practice before their home opener vs. the Blackhawks. Simon Gagne talks a little bit about the road ahead, but also shares an update on his health – which is something people are always asking about…
Playing on a line with Mike Richards and Jeff Carter, Gagne struggled in the Kings’ first game, recording zero shots and tallying a minus-3. He was then benched in Denver on Tuesday and if he plays tonight, he’ll most likely be on the fourth line with Colin Fraser and Jordan Nolan. His playing status at the moment isn’t really being determined by health concerns, but more on coach Darryl Sutter‘s unhappiness with the play of several of his left wings. At least to start the game vs Edmonton, Kyle Clifford is expected to be on the second line with Richards and Carter – story here.
