Over the last few years we’ve been extremely impressed with the work of artist Sylvie Marsolais. MayorsManor was first introduced to her amazing skills via a mask she designed and painted with a George St. Pierre theme for Kings goaltending prospect JF Berube (shown here).
Selected by Los Angeles at the 2009 NHL draft, Berube wrapped up his career in the QMJHL with a solid playoff run in the spring of 2011 – where he posted some of the best numbers among all netminders in the post-season that year. Then came hip surgery a month later, followed by his first year as a pro, last season with the ECHL’s Ontario Reign.
His current mask is one of the most beautiful hockey masks you’ll ever see, featuring tributes to many things Hollywood and Los Angeles related. Last summer we even featured some exclusive pics from Marsolais right as the design was completed and ready to share with the world (link).
Now, we’re pleased to debut some never-before seen photos of what she’s currently working on for Berube.
This is a new Pro’s Choice mask that will feature a strong LA Kings theme. It’s far from finished, so this is just a little tease. And as she usually does, she’s found a way to put layers of design into the overall look. For example, the numbers inside the stars represent the birth dates of his parents and brother. And it’s not on there yet, but in the next round of photos look for a pair of LA Kings legends to adorn the sides of the mask. We’re not going to spoil the secret though. You’ll have to wait until next time to see who will be there.
However, once again, she seems to be well on her way to creating another beautiful masterpiece…
UPDATE: The mask has been completed, see a full picture gallery here – featuring two LA Kings legends

Love rouby! Sick mask so far!
Any insight on Bernier’s rather plain mask that he was sporting in the home opener? Looks like its just a placeholder until he gets a newer mask, or traded.
