Less than 20,000 people were in the building the night the Kings won the Stanley Cup. Yet, much like the ‘Miracle on Manchester’ stories told decades later, thousands more will likely claim they were there in the years to come. When Eric Stonestreet shares his memories though, he’ll be telling the truth.
A star on ABC TV’s Modern Family by day, he’s a huge sports fan by night. And as you’ll hear in the following interview, his love for hockey goes all the way back to growing up in Kansas City. So, it’s not that surprising that he frequented Kings games this season and cheered them on throughout the playoffs – including Game 6 vs the Devils, the night they won the Cup.
At least one of the Kings players is apparently a fan of his work as well, considering Dustin Penner tweeted out a photo of the two a few hours after the celebration on the ice and even added the hashtag #Fizbo – a reference to an alter-ego of Stonestreet’s character Cam on the TV show.
