Trio of Kings’ players provide early reviews on Keaton Ellerby

Trading a fifth round draft pick for a guy playing on another teams’s third defensive pairing usually doesn’t bubble up to the surface as a major story. However, when the defending Stanley Cup Champions are missing two of their key weapons on the blueline and the new guy coming in is only a few years […]

Dustin Penner and Rob Scuderi – just a couple of homebodies

Penner SC Final LA Kings

During the early part of last season we had a series of articles where members of the LA Kings talked about things they had learned about their teammates. According to readers, some of the most popular answers were Dustin Brown trying to explain the subtle differences between nerd vs. geek and then-newcomer Mike Richards talking about […]

Dubinsky fined, not suspended, for hit on Scuderi

Following a supplementary discipline hearing this morning, the NHL has announced that Columbus Blue Jackets forward Brandon Dubinsky has been fined $10,000 – the maximum allowed under the new Collective Bargaining Agreement.
The hearing took place by phone, where Dubinsky was given an opportunity to explain this hit on Kings defenseman Rob Scuderi:

On getting the first win of the season: “It feels good. I think we’ve played some good hockey. Certainly not a full 60 minutes, but I think tonight, truth be told, probably wasn’t our best game. But, sometimes it doesn’t matter how you […]

kings cup banner felt

In the two games played so far this season the Kings have notched three goals total – all from players who don’t normally register too high up on the scoring charts.  For example, their totals from last year show just eight goals…combined.
Still, Kyle Clifford, Jordan Nolan and Rob Scuderi remain as the only LA players […]

Scuderi scores, shares post-game thoughts after 5-2 loss

In some respects, it’s not surprising that Rob Scuderi scored the Kings first goal of the game vs. the visiting Chicago Blackhawks. Many of his teammates had to be nervous – or at least emotionally charged – after going through the banner raising ceremony and getting their rings. Very few of them had ever been through something […]

Scuderi Sutter Kings camp 2013 MayorsManor

Drew Doughty caught a few people off guard when he showed up to training camp at 205lbs. That was a good sign for a player who has been dogged by comments about his conditioning ever before he was drafted into the NHL.
“I wondered if he’s been eating,” joked Rob Scuderi. “But with Dewey we all know […]
