HUGE MayorsManor LIVE show – April 4, 2012
Interview with Jonathan Quick’s replacement in net
When the Kings returned to their practice facility on Monday after nearly a week long break there was a stranger sitting in Jonathan Quick‘s stall. Perhaps even more confusing to some, he was putting on goalie equipment.
Salvatore Tecci had been at the rink since noon, hours before practice was set to start. As the players [...]
VIDEO: Roenick breaks down Doughty’s hit on Oshie
Earlier today, the National Hockey League let it be known that Kings defenseman Drew Doughty will not be suspended for his hit on the Blues’ TJ Oshie in the final seconds of last night’s game.
As a first time offender, the $2,500 fine levied against him was pretty much as expected.
In the clip below, Jeremy Roenick [...]
Mike Richards trade for Simmonds and Schenn revisited
In the 40-plus year history of the Los Angeles Kings franchise, there have been some pretty big trades. Obviously, none bigger than a deal that went down in August 1988 with the Edmonton Oilers.

Robitaille on Rogie and Roenick – Hall of Fame worthy?
Luc Robitaille was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame on November 9, 2009.
That was about as ‘no-brainer’ of a selection as the committee has had in recent years. He finished his career with 668 goals and a Stanley Cup, just to name a few of his accomplishments.
Going back even further in Kings history [...]

POLL: Greatest American-Born NHL Player
Even without a big marketing slash, it just may have been Legends Night at Staples Center on Monday.
Two of the greatest players to grace the NHL in the last 30 years played what could be their final games in Los Angeles, center Mike Modano and defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom.
Which leads to the today’s question, is Modano [...]

MayorsManor Live Radio with Helene Elliott of the LA Times
Although it’s commonplace today, there was a time not that long ago when female reports weren’t allowed in the locker rooms of major sports teams in North America. In fact, when Helene Elliott started covering the action, it wasn’t uncommon for her to be completely shut out of post-game interviews.
Despite the myriad of challenges and [...]
