i appreciate this idea that getting another top 5 pick could potentially be awesome for the kings in the coming years, but i don’t get this obsession with this team being so bad. they’re really not that bad. i mean they’re not great, but this isn’t the worst team in the NHL by my judgment. we have a really solid talented core. we have one of the best d men in the league, we have one of the best 2 way forwards in the league. we have a legit coach. we have a bunch of hungry and talented young guys. we have kyle clifford. i’m not saying we’re gonna win the cup, but this isn’t a team that by any stretch should finish last or second to last in the nhl. we need to start putting our shots away, but we’re outshooting the entire world. if this team can find its scoring groove, we can be formidable. i guess getting another high pick could be awesome, but is it worth tanking? if it’s not worth tanking, then i don’t see how it happens. i for sure feel like this group will challenge for a playoff spot. 4-5 right now isn’t great, but we’re a couple mistake, missed shots, and poor PPs from being 6-3. i dunno, i just don’t buy this obsession with another second to worst in the league season.
