Kings Players Trying to One-Up Each Other

After winning the Stanley Cup twice in the past three seasons, and then not making the playoffs this year, many questions are swirling around the LA Kings. Sunday brought a day of many confusing feelings for players – with team captain Dustin Brown calling it, “just an awkward feeling for this group.” He later added, “It’s not a situation you want to be in, but to try to take a positive out of anything.”

Well, day two of what is set to be a very long summer proved to be positive beyond anybody’s wildest dreams. Now, if you’re not on twitter, you missed out on all the fun, so allow us to give you a brief overview:

Defenseman Drew Doughty fired a seemingly innocent shot, poking fun at his roommate and BFF…

Minutes later, Lewis replied back…

A few years back, the NHL used ‘Game On!’ as a marketing slogan; apparently Lewis appreciates that line of thinking. After re-tweeting the above images, we weighed in and thought it was over…

Meanwhile, center Jarret Stoll was left speechless…

Several hours later – perhaps he needed time to reach out to a few of Lewis’ family members to dig up so more dirt – Doughty was back with a follow-up tweet…

Once again, Lewis wasn’t going away quietly, offering another retort…

Looking to join the action, rookie Andy Andreoff chimed in by poking a little fun at teammate Kyle Clifford…

Hockey’s lovable odd couple weren’t the only ones tweeting. Later, Andreoff tweeted a pic of fellow newcomer, Brayden McNabb…

Kings fans will tell you that the summer of 2012 was the greatest summer of all-time. Thus far, 2015 is off to an amazingly strong start.
