Greene and McNabb: Stadium Series Pre-Game Comments

In advance of tonight’s Kings and Sharks game at Levi’s Stadium, here are thoughts from Los Angeles defensemen Brayden McNabb and Matt Greeme…

On his previous outdoor experience, while in junior hockey:

McNabb: “It was in Spokane and we lost 11-2 or something. I don’t want to remember it, trying to forget.”

On the quality of the ice at practice on Friday:

McNabb: “Especially over the last half of practice, the ice was pretty rough. That just tells us that we have to be extra simple [in the game]. I think that will give us the best chance to win.”

On his confidence level increasing as the season wears on:

McNabb: “The confidence is there. It’s about settling in and getting to know your role and yourself, how you can play and what you can do in this league. I think from here on in I’ll continue to become more comfortable.”

On the importance of playing the Sharks, given the Pacific Division standings:

McNabb: “It’s a playoff-type game, we have to get two points. We have to treat it as a must win. We’ll have to adjust to the climate and the ice and go from there.”

On if playing outdoors is a little bit easier the second time around:

Greene: “Yeah, I think the guys are ready. We had a good time playing in it last year. And this year, you enjoy it while it’s here.”

On what the pre-game talk has been about:

Greene: “It’s just about winning the game, that’s it. We need the points; this is a huge division game. That’s all it is for us… Every time we play it’s always a good game. They’re clawing for points and so are we, so we have to be ready. It’s going to be a hard fought game.”
