Puck Probability: Odds for Kings at Flyers, October 28

Simmonds FlyersIt’s the game that everybody on both sides – from players to fans to management – circles on their calendars when the NHL schedule comes out, Kings vs. Flyers. Building on the in-depth preview posted earlier, we’re back with some all new tidbits related to tonight’s action. Per the norm, we’ll provide notes on a few things that may occur on the Kings side of the ice, and we have a guest to share thoughts related to the other bench. Joining us for Game 9 is David Strehle of The Fourth Period magazine. He’s allegedly a Philadelphia guru, we shall see.

3:1 – Ron Hextall and Dean Lombardi are shown hugging at least five times during the TV broadcast

8:1 – Robyn Regehr earns an assist

10:1 – Mike Richards nets a pair of goals, including the overtime winner

22:1 – Trevor Lewis makes a surprise return… and fights Wayne Simmonds to determine who truly is Drew Doughty’s BFF

70:1 – A line brawl breaks out in the second period

Odds by David Strehle:

1:2 – The Wells Fargo Center crowd will boo former Flyers forwards Mike Richards and Jeff Carter

2:1 – At least one of the ex-Flyers on the Kings scores a goal… and it’s likely to be Carter or Justin Williams at one of the most crucial points of the contest

10:1 – Wayne Simmonds and Brayden Schenn will each score against their former team

25:1 – The Flyers play a full 60 minutes, dominate attack zone time and outshoot the Kings by a wide margin

1,000:1 – Philadelphia wins in a shootout (if the tie-breaking skills competition is required to decide the outcome), with Nick Grossmann netting the improbable winning marker in the 18th round
